Smith Custom Pools And Lakes

This contractor has had multiple delays completing our pool and patio project. He started June of 2020 and still will not finish the open items punch list (over a year- now in November of 2021 and still not done). He has also owed us money for many months (they overdrew for part of the project they did not do but now says he does not have enough money to pay us back). We hear multiple excuses from Owner Doug regarding why he can't finish the job or pay us. Getting warranty work done now seems very questionable because he can't even pay us what he owes us. Well-intentioned owner but has not followed though for us. Advice for anybody wanting to build a pool: find a reputable contractor, check multiple references from different sources and meet the project manager and ask how long they have worked there. Ask how they work. Are they assigned specifically to your project? Are they are the only superintendent for the whole pool building company? If so, you may want to keep looking.
