Forum Title: Summer waves set up
Hi guys. Brand new here and not sure how where to start. We bought an 18ftx 48 summer waves pool with the ring at the top. I got it on clearance last year for $50 so o thought, why not lol. We are setting it up today. The directions suck as far as maintaining the pool. Like I'm not even clear where the chlorine tabs go, I just know it needs 1 inch tabs. I believe it's a 5000 gallon pool. Could you point me in the right direction please? I got a Clorox test kit at Walmart and the tablets. What else do I need to do? And how often? I'm trying to read all the stuff here but it's a lot.

Welcome to TFP! Caring for your pool is a simple two step process. Step 1: Ignore the instructions that came with your pool. Step 2: Follow our Guide to Seasonal Pools Pool School - Guide for Seasonal/Temporary Pools

Hello! I just bought the same type pool. 15ft (a little smaller, but same thing). I am also a newbie! I do know this, you must test your water and work off of that. For example, I tested my water (I need to do it again because I got the cheapy strips and I dont think theyre accurate) and i learned that my PH is high, and my hardness is low. I'm reading as much as I can on here, there are great articles that teach you what to lower/raise your levels with and what the proper levels are for things... We literally just set the pool up yesterday and i'm going to cross my fingers and hope we get it safe to swim in.....
